In the LTM period, February 2022 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $1,007.5 million, resulting in an average deal value of $67.2 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of March 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 21 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $26.7 million during that month.
Of the 166 deals, the deal secured between Brookfield Business Partners LP and Magnati Payment Solutions, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Middle East and Africa driven by Artificial Intelligence, which was valued at $690.0 million and was completed on February 28, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Eldridge Industries LLC; SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and AnyVision Interactive Technologies Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between Canada Pension Plan Investment Board; Harel Insurance Investments and Financial Services Ltd; Koch Disruptive Technologies; KSH Capital; Pontifax Global Food and Agriculture Technology Fund LP; Princeville Capital; Temasek Holdings (Private) Ltd; Union Tech Ventures Ltd; Wharton Equity Partners LLC and CommonSense Robotics Ltd. The Eldridge Industries LLC; SoftBank Vision Fund 2-AnyVision Interactive Technologies Ltd deal and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board; Harel Insurance Investments and Financial Services Ltd; Koch Disruptive Technologies; KSH Capital; Pontifax Global Food and Agriculture Technology Fund LP; Princeville Capital; Temasek Holdings (Private) Ltd; Union Tech Ventures Ltd; Wharton Equity Partners LLC-CommonSense Robotics Ltd deal were valued at $235.0 million and $200.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Advent International Corp; Brighton Park Capital; Greenfield Partners LLC; Joule Ventures LLC; Maor Investments LLC; O.G. Tech Ventures; Red Dot Capital Partners; REVAIA; StageOne Ventures-Coralogix Limited valued at $142.0 million, whereas the deal between CyberStarts; ForgePoint Capital Management LLC; Georgian Wine and Spirits LLC; Insight Partners; Lightspeed Management Company, L.L.C; Next47 Inc.; The Syndicate Group Inc-Noname Security valued at $135.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $1,402.0 million and accounted for nearly 27.81% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Middle East and Africa region accounted for 4.60% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 5.43% of the total deal size on a global scale.
