A total of 35 Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) deals (pending and completed) were announced in Poland, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $4,304.1 million. In the LTM period, September 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $1,789.8 million, resulting in an average deal value of $447.5 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of December 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 4 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $70.6 million during that month.
Of the 35 deals, the deal secured between Iliad SA and UPC Polska Sp. z o.o., was the largest M&A deal in the Poland, which was valued at $1,782.8 million and was completed on September 21, 2021. The second-largest deal was between GMW Holding S.A. and B2B Wine & Spirits sp.z o.o; CEDC International Sp. z o.o., while the third-largest deal was between Redefine Properties Ltd and EPP NV. The GMW Holding S.A.-B2B Wine & Spirits sp.z o.o; CEDC International Sp. z o.o. deal and the Redefine Properties Ltd-EPP NV deal were valued at $957.1 million and $475.8 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Cyfrowy Polsat SA-PAK-Polska Czysta Energia Sp zoo; Pantanomo Limited; Port Praski sp. z o.o. valued at $272.3 million, whereas the deal between Norsk Hydro ASA-Alumetal SA valued at $238.6 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $3,726.6 million and accounted for nearly 86.58% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
