Sindesar Khurd Mine in Rajasthan, was the largest silver-producing mine in India, producing approximately 10,872 thousand ounces of silver and an estimated 3 million metric tons per annum (mmtpa) of Run-of-Mine (ROM) in 2021. The Sindesar Khurd Mine is owned by Vedanta Resources Ltd, and is due to operate until 2030. The second largest silver-producing mine with an estimated silver production of 5,520 thousand ounces and an estimated 3.86 mmtpa of ROM, was the Rampura Agucha Mine located in Rajasthan. The Rampura Agucha Mine is owned by Vedanta Resources Ltd, and is due to operate until 2027.
Zawar Mine located in Rajasthan was the third-largest mine, the Rajpura Dariba Mine located in Rajasthan was the fourth-largest mine, and the Hutti Mine located in Karnataka was the fifth-largest mine, with a total silver production of 1,188 thousand ounces, 1,013 thousand ounces and 7.1 thousand ounces, respectively, in 2021. The Zawar Mine, the Rajpura Dariba Mine and the Hutti Mine had an estimated ROM production of 2.72 mmtpa, 0.92 mmtpa and 0.53 mmtpa respectively. The Zawar Mine is owned by Vedanta Resources Ltd which is due to operate until 2029, the Rajpura Dariba Mine is owned by Vedanta Resources Ltd which is due to operate until 2044 and the Hutti Mine is owned by Hutti Gold Mines Company Ltd.
The five largest silver mines, i.e., Sindesar Khurd Mine, Rampura Agucha Mine, Zawar Mine, Rajpura Dariba Mine, and Hutti Mine, cumulatively produced approximately 18,600.1 thousand ounces of silver, 10.99 mmtpa of ROM in 2021.
