PRADA, a subsidiary of PRADA Holding BV, is a fashion company, which has operations across the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. Retail sales in the Asia Pacific fell 6.7% lower at constant exchange rates for the six months ending June 30, 2022, compared to the same time in 2021, primarily because of limitations that China's government placed as a result of Covid-19 outbreaks. Compared with the first six months of 2019, Asian Pacific sales increased by 26.1%.

In Europe the retail sales increased by 88.7% at constant exchange rates compared to those of the first half of 2021 and by 34.4% over 2019, driven by domestic consumption and tourism recovery. The retail sales of the American, Japanese, and Middle East markets rose by 41.1%, 28.2%, and 24% at constant exchange rates from those of 2021.

PRADA's Net Sales by Brand

PRADA markets products under the brands Prada, Miu Miu, Car Shoe, Marchesi 1824, Luna Rossa, and Church's. In the first half of 2022, net sales of the retail channel increased by 26.4%, and the gross margin at 77.7%, up from 74.3% over H1 2021. Direct e-commerce sales in the first half rose by 29.1% from 2021 and accounted for approximately 7% of total retail sales.

The retail net sales of the Prada brand were 28.1% higher than in the first six months of 2021 and 45.5% up from 2019. The Prada brand had significant growth across all product categories as a result of a wide-ranging, diverse customer base. Miu Miu's sales increased by 13.6% over 2021 and by 5.3% from that in 2019.

Church's reported a rise of 28.7% in 2021 sales, the company primarily impacted by regional exposure to Europe. Prada operates a total of 627 stores on June 30, 2022, following 7 openings and 15 closures in the period, 9 of which are related to the Church's brand.
