In the LTM period, May 2022 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $55,784.2 million, resulting in an average deal value of $945.5 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of December 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 92 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $63.2 million during that month.
Of the 837 deals, the deal secured between Block Inc and Afterpay Ltd, was the largest M&A deal in the Asia-Pacific Technology, Media and Telecom sector, which was valued at $29,000.0 million and was completed on August 1, 2021. The second-largest deal was between PayU and BillDesk, while the third-largest deal was between Cuscaden Peak Pte Ltd and Singapore Press Holdings Ltd. The PayU-BillDesk deal and the Cuscaden Peak Pte Ltd-Singapore Press Holdings Ltd deal were valued at $4,700.0 million and $4,167.8 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between EMART Inc-eBay Korea Co., Ltd. valued at $3,061.6 million, whereas the deal between Dye & Durham Corporation-Link Administration Holdings Ltd valued at $2,829.3 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $43,758.7 million and accounted for nearly 28.67% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Asia-Pacific region accounted for 17.49% of the total M&A deals done globally, and accounted for 0.70% of the total deal size on a global scale.
