On the other hand, the month of August 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 9 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $3,241.1 million during that month.
Of the 54 deals, the deal secured between Block Inc and Afterpay Ltd, was the largest M&A deal in the Asia-Pacific Technology, Media and Telecom sector driven by Digitalization, which was valued at $29,000.0 million and was completed on August 1, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Dye & Durham Corporation and Link Administration Holdings Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between Alphabet Inc and Bharti Airtel Ltd. The Dye & Durham Corporation-Link Administration Holdings Ltd deal and the Alphabet Inc-Bharti Airtel Ltd deal were valued at $2,829.3 million and $700.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Think and Learn Pvt Ltd-Great Learning valued at $600.0 million, whereas the deal between Zomato Ltd-Blinkit valued at $568.8 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $33,698.0 million and accounted for nearly 38.05% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Asia-Pacific region accounted for 55.77% of the total M&A deals done globally, and accounted for 30.00% of the total deal size on a global scale.
