On the other hand, the month of January 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 184 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $18.4 million during that month.
Of the 7,996 deals, the deal secured between 3G Capital Inc and Hunter Douglas NV, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Global Consumer sector, which was valued at $7,100.0 million and was completed on December 30, 2021. The second-largest deal was between CVC Capital Partners Fund VIII and Ekaterra, while the third-largest deal was between Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, LLC; TPG Inc and Covetrus Inc. The CVC Capital Partners Fund VIII-Ekaterra deal and the Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, LLC; TPG Inc-Covetrus Inc deal were valued at $5,104.5 million and $3,029.3 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Stone Point Capital LLC-Tivity Health Inc valued at $2,320.4 million, whereas the deal between KPS Capital Partners LP-Almidones Mexicanos, S.A. de C.V.; DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products Company LLC valued at $1,300.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $18,854.2 million and accounted for nearly 24.09% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. By region, North America accounted for 40.17% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and recorded a total deal value of $31,016.1 million, which accounted for 43.71% of the total deal size on a global scale.
