In the LTM period, December 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $30,269.3 million, resulting in an average deal value of $7,567.3 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of November 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 13 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $1,211.5 million during that month.
Of the 59 deals, the deal secured between Oracle Corp and Cerner Corp, was the largest M&A deal in the North America driven by Big Data, which was valued at $29,600.0 million and was completed on December 16, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Intercontinental Exchange Inc and Black Knight Inc, while the third-largest deal was between American Tower Corp and CoreSite Realty Corp. The Intercontinental Exchange Inc-Black Knight Inc deal and the American Tower Corp-CoreSite Realty Corp deal were valued at $16,000.0 million and $10,100.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between TransUnion LLC-NeuStar Inc valued at $3,100.0 million, whereas the deal between CDW Corp-Sirius Computer Solutions Inc valued at $2,500.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $61,300.0 million and accounted for nearly 70.80% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The North America region accounted for 46.67% of the total M&A deals done globally, and accounted for 40.97% of the total deal size on a global scale.
