On the other hand, the month of January 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 5 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $181.9 million during that month.
Of the 37 deals, the deal secured between Kaseya Ltd and Datto, Inc., was the largest M&A deal in the North America driven by Cybersecurity, which was valued at $6,200.0 million and was completed on April 11, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Google LLC and Mandiant Inc, while the third-largest deal was between TransUnion LLC and NeuStar Inc. The Google LLC-Mandiant Inc deal and the TransUnion LLC-NeuStar Inc deal were valued at $5,400.0 million and $3,100.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Equifax Inc-Appriss Insights, LLC valued at $1,825.0 million, whereas the deal between Open Text Corp-Zix Corporation valued at $860.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $17,385.0 million and accounted for nearly 68.54% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The North America region accounted for 35.80% of the total M&A deals done globally, and accounted for 43.02% of the total deal size on a global scale.
