In the LTM period, October 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $14,614.7 million, resulting in an average deal value of $1,623.9 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of November 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 9 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $335.8 million during that month.
Of the 71 deals, the deal secured between Take-Two Interactive Software Inc and Zynga Inc, was the largest M&A deal in the North America driven by Digitalization, which was valued at $12,700.0 million and was completed on January 10, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Entegris Inc and CMC Materials Inc, while the third-largest deal was between TransUnion LLC and NeuStar Inc. The Entegris Inc-CMC Materials Inc deal and the TransUnion LLC-NeuStar Inc deal were valued at $5,700.0 million and $3,100.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between CDW Corp-Sirius Computer Solutions Inc valued at $2,500.0 million, whereas the deal between Shopify Inc-Deliverr Inc valued at $2,100.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $26,100.0 million and accounted for nearly 48.09% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The North America region accounted for 33.06% of the total M&A deals done globally, and accounted for 34.98% of the total deal size on a global scale.
