In the LTM period, March 2022 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $13,219.1 million, resulting in an average deal value of $142.1 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of June 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 129 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $93.3 million during that month.
Of the 1,210 deals, the deal secured between Thoma Bravo LP and Anaplan Inc, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the North America driven by Digital Media, which was valued at $10,400.0 million and was completed on March 20, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Platinum Equity LLC and McGraw Hill Companies Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between Veritas Capital Fund Management, LLC and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Co. The Platinum Equity LLC-McGraw Hill Companies Ltd deal and the Veritas Capital Fund Management, LLC-Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Co deal were valued at $4,500.0 million and $3,162.5 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Cascade Investment LLC-Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts valued at $2,210.0 million, whereas the deal between Kirkbi AS; Sony Group Corp; Thoma Bravo LP-Epic Games Inc; QAD Inc valued at $2,000.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $22,272.5 million and accounted for nearly 27.71% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The North America region accounted for 62.17% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 42.85% of the total deal size on a global scale.
