China: Five Largest Mines in 2021

  • Green Mine in Sichuan, was the largest mine in China, producing approximately 62.24 million metric tons per annum (mmtpa) of Run-of-Mine (ROM) in 2021. The Green Mine is owned by Sichuan Lomon Corp. The second largest mine with approximately 47.09 mmtpa of ROM, was the Northern Shaanxi Mine located in Shaanxi. The Northern Shaanxi Mine is owned by Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co Ltd.

  • Daliuta-Huojitu Mine located in Shaanxi was the third-largest mine, the Heidaigou Mine located in Inner Mongolia was the fourth-largest mine, and the Bulianta Mine located in Inner Mongolia was the fifth-largest mine, with an estimated ROM production of 41.14 mmtpa, 33.63 mmtpa and 29.75 mmtpa, respectively, in 2021. The Daliuta-Huojitu Mine is owned by China Shenhua Energy Co Ltd which is due to operate until 2056, the Heidaigou Mine is owned by China Shenhua Energy Co Ltd;China Cinda Asset Management Co Ltd which is due to operate until 2031 and the Bulianta Mine is owned by China Shenhua Energy Co Ltd which is due to operate until 2035.

  • The five largest mines, i.e., Green Mine, Northern Shaanxi Mine , Daliuta-Huojitu Mine, Heidaigou Mine, and Bulianta Mine, cumulatively produced approximately 213.85 mmtpa of ROM in 2021
