Fankou Mine in Guangdong, was the largest silver-producing mine in China, producing approximately 6,586 thousand ounces of silver and an estimated 4.2 million metric tons per annum (mmtpa) of Run-of-Mine (ROM) in 2021. The Fankou Mine is owned by Shenzhen Zhongjin Lingnan Nonfemet Co Ltd, and is due to operate until 2033. The second largest silver-producing mine with an estimated silver production of 5,509 thousand ounces and an estimated 0.68 mmtpa of ROM, was the Ying Mine located in Guangdong. The Ying Mine is owned by Silvercorp Metals Inc, and is due to operate until 2040.
Jiama Mine located in Tibet was the third-largest mine, the Dexing Mine located in Jiangxi was the fourth-largest mine, and the Shaxi Copper Mine located in Anhui was the fifth-largest mine, with a total silver production of 5,189 thousand ounces, 4,508 thousand ounces and 1,641 thousand ounces, respectively, in 2021. The Jiama Mine, the Dexing Mine and the Shaxi Copper Mine had an estimated ROM production of 7.66 mmtpa, 11.88 mmtpa and 4.32 mmtpa respectively. The Jiama Mine is owned by China Gold International Resources Corp. Ltd. which is due to operate until 2050, the Dexing Mine is owned by Jiangxi Copper Co Ltd which is due to operate until 2050 and the Shaxi Copper Mine is owned by Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Co Ltd.
The five largest silver mines, i.e., Fankou Mine, Ying Mine, Jiama Mine, Dexing Mine, and Shaxi Copper Mine, cumulatively produced approximately 23,433 thousand ounces of silver, 28.74 mmtpa of ROM in 2021.
