Olimpiada Mine in Krasnoyarsk Krai, was the largest gold-producing mine in Russia, producing approximately 1,098 thousand ounces of gold and an estimated 10.9 million metric tons per annum (mmtpa) of Run-of-Mine (ROM) in 2021. The Olimpiada Mine is owned by Polyus, and is due to operate until 2030. The second largest gold-producing mine with an estimated gold production of 498.7 thousand ounces and an estimated 23.59 mmtpa of ROM, was the Natalka Mine located in Krasnoyarsk Krai. The Natalka Mine is owned by Polyus, and is due to operate until 2042.
Kupol and Dvoinoye Mine located in Chukotka Autonomous Okrug was the third-largest mine, the Blagodatnoye Mine located in Krasnoyarsk Krai was the fourth-largest mine, and the Verninskoye Mine located in Irkutsk Oblast was the fifth-largest mine, with a total gold production of 434.6 thousand ounces, 424.4 thousand ounces and 300.5 thousand ounces, respectively, in 2021. The Kupol and Dvoinoye Mine, the Blagodatnoye Mine and the Verninskoye Mine had an estimated ROM production of 1.68 mmtpa, 18.97 mmtpa and 5.41 mmtpa respectively. The Kupol and Dvoinoye Mine is owned by Kinross Gold Corp which is due to operate until 2025, the Blagodatnoye Mine is owned by Polyus which is due to operate until 2035 and the Verninskoye Mine is owned by Polyus which is due to operate until 2037.
The five largest gold mines, i.e., Olimpiada Mine, Natalka Mine, Kupol and Dvoinoye Mine, Blagodatnoye Mine, and Verninskoye Mine, cumulatively produced approximately 2,756.2 thousand ounces of gold, 60.56 mmtpa of ROM in 2021.
