Gusevogorskoye Mine in Sverdlovsk Oblast, was the largest mine in Russia, producing approximately 58.88 million metric tons per annum (mmtpa) of Run-of-Mine (ROM) in 2021. The Gusevogorskoye Mine is owned by Evraz Plc, and is due to operate until 2043. The second largest mine with approximately 51.2 mmtpa of ROM, was the Lebedinsky GOK Mine located in Belgorod Oblast. The Lebedinsky GOK Mine is owned by Metalloinvest MC LLC.
Mikhailovsky GOK Mine located in Kursk Oblast was the third-largest mine, the Karelsky Okatysh Complex located in Republic of Karelia was the fourth-largest mine, and the Stoilensky GOK Mine located in Belgorod Oblast was the fifth-largest mine, with an estimated ROM production of 49.3 mmtpa, 34.77 mmtpa and 29.09 mmtpa, respectively, in 2021. The Mikhailovsky GOK Mine is owned by Metalloinvest MC LLC, the Karelsky Okatysh Complex is owned by Severstal which is due to operate until 2047 and the Stoilensky GOK Mine is owned by NLMK Group which is due to operate until 2151.
The five largest mines, i.e., Gusevogorskoye Mine, Lebedinsky GOK Mine, Mikhailovsky GOK Mine, Karelsky Okatysh Complex, and Stoilensky GOK Mine, cumulatively produced approximately 223.24 mmtpa of ROM in 2021
