Dukat Mine in Magadan Oblast, was the largest silver-producing mine in Russia, producing approximately 14,700 thousand ounces of silver and an estimated 1.9 million metric tons per annum (mmtpa) of Run-of-Mine (ROM) in 2021. The Dukat Mine is owned by Polymetal International Plc, and is due to operate until 2028. The second largest silver-producing mine with an estimated silver production of 3,415 thousand ounces and an estimated 0.05 mmtpa of ROM, was the Mayminovskoye Mine located in Magadan Oblast. The Mayminovskoye Mine is owned by MMC Dalpolimetall.
Lunnoye-Arylakh Mine located in Magadan Oblast was the third-largest mine, the Kupol and Dvoinoye Mine located in Chukotka Autonomous Okrug was the fourth-largest mine, and the Chita Mine located in Zabaykalsky Krai was the fifth-largest mine, with a total silver production of 3,400 thousand ounces, 3,329 thousand ounces and 2,028 thousand ounces, respectively, in 2021. The Lunnoye-Arylakh Mine, the Kupol and Dvoinoye Mine and the Chita Mine had an estimated ROM production of 0.5 mmtpa, 1.68 mmtpa and 15.4 mmtpa respectively. The Lunnoye-Arylakh Mine is owned by Polymetal International Plc which is due to operate until 2024, the Kupol and Dvoinoye Mine is owned by Kinross Gold Corp which is due to operate until 2025 and the Chita Mine is owned by MMC Norilsk Nickel which is due to operate until 2050.
The five largest silver mines, i.e., Dukat Mine, Mayminovskoye Mine, Lunnoye-Arylakh Mine, Kupol and Dvoinoye Mine, and Chita Mine, cumulatively produced approximately 26,872 thousand ounces of silver, 19.53 mmtpa of ROM in 2021.
