Bashkirskaya Med Mine in Republic of Bashkortostan, was the largest zinc-producing mine in Russia, producing approximately 250 thousand tonnes of zinc and an estimated 1.5 million metric tons per annum (mmtpa) of Run-of-Mine (ROM) in 2021. The Bashkirskaya Med Mine is owned by Ural Mining and Metallurgical Co. The second largest zinc-producing mine with an estimated zinc production of 85.4 thousand tonnes and an estimated 4.15 mmtpa of ROM, was the Uchalinsk Mine located in Republic of Bashkortostan. The Uchalinsk Mine is owned by Ural Mining and Metallurgical Co.
