Havran Project in Balikesir, was the largest mine in Turkey, producing approximately 14.16 million metric tons per annum (mmtpa) of Run-of-Mine (ROM) and primarily produced copper (41.12 thousand ounces) in 2021. The Havran Project is owned by Ozdogan Construction & Trade Co. Sti., and is due to operate until 2027. The second largest mine with approximately 12.97 mmtpa of ROM and primarily producing gold (187.84 thousand ounces), was the Kisladag Mine located in Usak. The Kisladag Mine is owned by Eldorado Gold Corp, and is due to operate until 2035.
Soma Mine located in Manisa was the third-largest mine, the Darica Mine located in Kocaeli (Izmit) was the fourth-largest mine, and the Denizli Mine located in Denizli was the fifth-largest mine, with an estimated ROM production of 12.51 mmtpa, 11.78 mmtpa and 9.99 mmtpa, respectively, in 2021. The Soma Mine is owned by Turkiye Komur Isletmeleri Kurumu, the Darica Mine is owned by Sarkuysan Elektrolitik Bakir Sanayi ve Ticaret AS and the Denizli Mine is owned by Ahmet Nuri Erikoglu Holding AS.
