In the LTM period, November 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $17,873.7 million, resulting in an average deal value of $43.4 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of March 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 445 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $18.5 million during that month.
Of the 4,963 deals, the deal secured between Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets Holdings Pty Limited; Public Sector Pension Investment Board and Uniti Group Ltd, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Asia-Pacific Technology, Media and Telecom sector, which was valued at $2,541.6 million and was completed on January 24, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Boyu Capital Consultancy Co. Ltd; Hillhouse Capital Group; Sequoia Capital China; SIG-China; Tencent Holdings Ltd and PT Global Jet Express, while the third-largest deal was between EQT Group and IRESS Ltd. The Boyu Capital Consultancy Co. Ltd; Hillhouse Capital Group; Sequoia Capital China; SIG-China; Tencent Holdings Ltd-PT Global Jet Express deal and the EQT Group-IRESS Ltd deal were valued at $2,500.0 million and $2,350.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Abu Dhabi Investment Authority; Temasek Investments, Inc.-GoTo Group - Indonesia valued at $2,000.0 million, whereas the deal between Alberta Investment Management Corp; Canada Pension Plan Investment Board-BAI Communications Pty Ltd valued at $1,951.3 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $11,343.0 million and accounted for nearly 7.01% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Asia-Pacific region accounted for 18.26% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 0.33% of the total deal size on a global scale.
