Kohl's Corp, the US-based specialty retailer operates departmental stores and website, offering moderately-priced private and national brand apparel, footwear, accessories, beauty, and home products. Its stores generally carry a merchandise assortment with some differences attributable to local preferences, store size, and Sephora. Their website offers a mix of merchandise that is available in their stores, as well as merchandise that is available only online. Their private portfolio includes well-known brands such as Apt. 9, Croft & Barrow, Jumping Beans, SO, and Sonoma Goods for Life, and exclusive brands that are developed and marketed through agreements with nationally-recognized brands such as Food Network, LC Lauren Conrad, Nine West, and Simply Vera Vera Wang. As of FY2021, Kohl opened 3 stores and operated a total of 1,165 stores and a website (www.Kohls.com).

As of FY2021, Kohl’s operated 1,165  stores with a sales area of 82.2 million square feet in 49 states. In FY2021  geography-wise Kohl had 117 stores in the Mid-Atlantic region, 155 stores in the Northeastern Region, 150 stores in the South Central Region, 315 stores in the Midwestern Region, 189 stores in the Southeastern Region, and 239 stores in West Region.

In FY2017, Kohl closed numerous leased stores prior to their scheduled lease expiration. During FY2017, they closed down 10 underperforming stores bringing the store count to 1,154.

The net sales grew by 22.9% to $18.5 billion in FY2021 compared to FY2020 YoY. The increase in sales was driven by higher retail sales in their stores. Digital sales were flat during the year compared to FY2020. Also, digital penetration amounted to 32% of net sales in FY2021. The Men's, Footwear, Women's, and Accessories outperformed the company average in particular. Also, the Active business outperformed the company average, increasing more than 40%  compared to FY2020 YoY. Active business represented 24% of total sales in FY2021.
