In terms of the geographic split, 7 out of 10 of the world’s top 10 private equity investors in the consumer industry are headquartered in North America, while 2 are based in Europe, and the remaining 1 is based in Asia. KKR & Co Inc, a US-based private equity firm, BPI France SA, an investment bank, and Credit Agricole SA, a provider of banking and related financial services, have invested EUR440 million ($497.53 million) in Malteries Soufflet SAS, a producer of malt and other beverages. The deal was completed in Q4 2021. The Bain Capital-Berlin deal was another major deal in the consumer sector in 2021. Deutsche Bank served as an advisor to Bain Capital and GCA Altium served as an advisor to Berlin Brands Group. Berlin Brands Group, a Germany-based e-commerce company that designs and distributes high-quality products in the home and living, consumer electronics, and sound & light sectors has secured USD700 million in funding comprising of equity and debt. The equity portion of the round is led by Bain Capital. The deal was completed in Q3 2021.
