In terms of the geographic split, 8 out of 10 of the world’s top 10 financial advisors in the packaging industry are headquartered in North America and whereas the remaining 2 are based in Europe. They employed a total of 905,404 people in 2021. The Sonoco Products Co-Ball Metalpack deal was one of the major deals in the packaging sector in 2021. J.P. Morgan Securities LLC acted as exclusive financial advisor to Sonoco, and Goldman Sachs acted as financial advisor to Ball Metalpack on the sale to Sonoco. Sonoco Products Company, an international provider of diversified consumer packaging, industrial, products, protective packaging, and packaging supply chain services, has acquired Ball Metalpack, a new packaging company that manufactures steel containers for aerosol products, food, household consumables, pet food, nutritional and other products in the United States, from Platinum Equity and Ball Corporation, for $1.35 billion in cash, Unifrax signed definitive agreements to acquire Lydall, for $1.3 billion. Sawaya Partners LLC and Lazard served as financial advisors to Olde Thompson. Olam Food Ingredients (OFI), an operating group of Olam International, global food and agri-business, has completed the acquisition of Olde Thompson, LLC, a US private label spices and seasonings manufacturer, from Kainos Capital LP, a food and consumer-focused private equity firm, at an enterprise value (EV) of $950 million. The deal closed in Q2 2021.
