First Solar is a provider of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, which designs, manufactures and sells solar PV modules with thin film semiconductor technology. Its polycrystalline films uses CdTe absorption layer which delivers competitive wattage using approximately 2% of the amount of semiconductor material used to manufacture a conventional crystalline silicon module. It also offers solar PV power systems, operations and maintenance services to system owners.
