BioPak UK and SOCIUS Network expand sustainable packaging distribution

BioPak UK, a certified B Corporation specialising in sustainable packaging, and SOCIUS Network, a leading distributor of catering supplies across Europe, have announced a new strategic partnership.

This collaboration aims to significantly increase the availability of certified compostable packaging solutions throughout the UK and Europe.

BioPak brings its expertise in developing and manufacturing plant-based, compostable packaging products and SOCIUS Network offers a vast distribution network with 22 members and 28 locations across the UK, the Republic of Ireland, and the Channel Islands.

Additionally, SOCIUS Network’s partnership with DHYS Group European Network extends its reach to 17 more European countries.

This agreement allows SOCIUS Network members to offer BioPak's sustainable packaging solutions to its customers in the catering and hygiene sectors.

BioPak will also serve as a consultant, providing SOCIUS Network with valuable insights and expertise in navigating the world of sustainable packaging.

“We are looking forward to working with BioPak to develop our sustainable packaging solutions offer with our members and their customers,” said Mike Revell, managing director of SOCIUS Network.

“We believe BioPak have the credentials to be our sustainable packaging consultant to support our business plans moving forward.”

For BioPak, this partnership aligns with its ongoing European expansion strategy.

Currently operating in five countries, BioPak gains access to a wider market through SOCIUS Network's extensive reach.

"This is an important step for BioPak in the UK and a lot of hard work has gone into laying the foundation with Mike and the SOCIUS members as we move strategically into distribution in 2024," stated Gary Smith, group CEO of BioPak.

"One of BioPak’s core differences and strengths is our capacity to expand and deliver a range of certified compostable products tailored to any market's requirements. We're fully prepared to support businesses in making the switch, not just by providing compliant compostable packaging, but also through educational resources fostering circular solutions," added Smith.

This partnership is expected to be a major driver for the adoption of sustainable packaging solutions within the European catering and hygiene industries.
