Butterfly Network launches iQ+ Bladder in US
The iQ+ Bladder leverages the company's Ultrasound-on-Chip technology to provide a comprehensive bladder scanning solution.
Butterfly Network has announced the launch of iQ+ Bladder, its first specialty product tailored for the bladder scanning market in the US.
The bundled solution comprises an iQ+Bladder probe, compact rolling cart, streamlined software, tablet and power splitter, paired with premium assembly.
This solution offers a fit-for-purpose ultrasound-based bladder scanner to facilitate quick and accurate bladder volume calculations for healthcare professionals.
The iQ+ Bladder probe is engineered for durability and daily use, incorporating Butterfly’s innovative Ultrasound-on-Chip technology while the accompanying rolling cart is designed for practicality, featuring a charging dock for the probe and storage space.
A large tablet, which can rotate 360° and pan 180°, is mounted on the cart for optimal viewing and ease of use during patient scans.
Butterfly's software for the iQ+ Bladder is streamlined to meet the specific needs of nurses and other healthcare providers who perform bladder scans regularly.
The user-friendly interface requires no login or configurations, enabling immediate access to the scanning process.
The software includes guidance for correct probe placement and leverages Butterfly's advanced bladder visualisation technology, including 3D renderings, to ensure accurate anatomy assessment.
Butterfly Network president, CEO, and chairman Joseph DeVivo said: “The launch of the Butterfly iQ+ Bladder demonstrates Butterfly’s commitment to extending our powerful Ultrasound-on-Chip technology into more markets where innovation is needed.
“With iQ+ Bladder, we move outside of our core point-of-care ultrasound market to better address the bladder scanning market, which has long awaited a more affordable, user-friendly solution.”
Earlier this year, Butterfly Network announced commercial launch of Butterfly iQ3 handheld point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) system in the US.
