Vivreau and 4ocean partner on new initiative to fight plastic pollution

Vivreau, a sustainable water solutions company, has joined forces with ocean cleanup business 4ocean on a new initiative to fight plastic pollution.

The 'Double Your Impact' initiative aims to remove 10lb of plastic and waste from the world's oceans for each Vivreau dispenser purchased and installed by 30 September 2024.

The move is an expansion of Vivreau and 4ocean's earlier 'Buy One, Pull One' campaign.

Launched earlier this year, that initiative removed 5lb of plastic per dispenser sold.

Vivreau technical excellence vice-president Tom Spillane said: "Vivreau is deeply committed to eliminating non-essential single-use plastics. Our partnership with 4ocean is driven by our shared values and joint dedication to environmental preservation.

"We’re excited to continue our partnership and actively contribute to the global fight against plastic pollution through our work together."

Vivreau, known for its advanced water dispensers, provides microfiltered still and sparkling water on demand.

The company's mission is to minimise the environmental impact of prepackaged water.

Meanwhile, 4ocean, a certified B Corporation, has reportedly removed more than 36 million pounds of plastic waste and other manmade debris from water bodies since 2017.

By collaborating with 4ocean, Vivreau is furthering its commitment to sustainability and aiding in the removal of oceanic plastic waste.

4ocean CEO and founder Alex Schulze said: "At 4ocean, we’re stoked to continue working with Vivreau to tackle the ocean plastic crisis and restore the health of the ocean.

"It is amazing to partner with a company that is offering sustainable refill options that encourage people to live a plastic-free lifestyle. Our partnership will have a meaningful impact on the amount of plastic that is entering the ocean and help support our global cleanup operation."

After the current promotional period ends, Vivreau says it will continue to remove 5lb of plastic from the ocean for every one of its dispensers installed.
