Top 10 Venture Capital Investors in Power Industry in the World in 2021 by Deal Volume

Chevron Technology Ventures LLC, Coatue Management LLC, Eurovia Belgium, Energy Impact Partners LLC, and Prelude Ventures LLC are among the top 5 venture capital investors in the power industry in the world in 2021 by deal volume.  In terms of the geographic split, 7 out of 10 of the world’s top 10 venture capital investors in the power industry are headquartered in North America, while 2 are based in Europe, and the remaining 1 is based in Asia. Gaiascope raised seed funding, it was one of the major VC deals in the power sector in 2021. Gaiascope Inc, a pioneer in wholesale electricity price forecasting, has raised $2 million in a seed prime fundraise from VoLo Earth Ventures. Other investors in the round include Khosla Ventures and Y-Combinator. The deal was completed in Q3 2021. Malta’s Series B financing deal was another major VC deal in the power sector in 2021. Malta Inc., a developer of grid-scale long-duration thermal energy storage solutions, has raised $60 million in Series B financing. The financing is provided by Chevron Technology Ventures, Piva Capital, Proman, and others. The deal was completed in Q3 2021.   Arcadia Power’s Series D financing was another major VC deal in the power sector in 2021. Arcadia Power Inc., a provider of renewable energy for houses, apartments, and businesses, has raised $100 million in series D financing, led by Tiger Global Management and the Drawdown Fund with participation from new investors Wellington Management, Reimagined Ventures, and others. Combined with the company’s previously undisclosed $21 million series C-1 in December 2020, Arcadia has now raised $180 million in total funding. The deal was completed in Q3 2021.
