Tiger Global Management LLC, DST Global, Egyptian Projects Operation and Maintenance, Y Combinator Management LLC, and Accel are among the top 5 venture capital investors in the retail & wholesale industry in the world in 2021 by deal volume.  In terms of the geographic split, 8 out of 10 of the world’s top 10 venture capital investors in the retail & wholesale industry are headquartered in North America, and the remaining 2 are based in Africa and Asia. They employed a total of 360 people in 2021. Smartpaddle Technology’s Series D financing deal was one of the major VC deals in the retail & wholesale sector in 2021. Smartpaddle Technology Pvt. Shoprtv Private Limited, an India-based live-commerce platform that allows buyers to discover, experience, and shop for their favourite products, in real-time, has secured $1.7 million in seed funding led by BEENEXT. Other investors in the round include Y-Combinator, Locus Ventures, Shiprocket, and others. The deal was completed in Q4 2021.
