AC Immunes product candidates intended for AD treatment include ACI-24 (anti-Abeta vaccine) in Phase II trials; ACI-35 (anti-pTau vaccine) in collaboration with Janssen Pharmaceuticals in Phase II trials; crenezumab (anti-Abeta antibody) in collaboration with Genentech in Phase II clinical trials; semorinemab (anti-Tau antibody) in collaboration with Genentech in Phase II trials; and Morphomer Tau (small molecule, Tau inhibitor) in collaboration with Lilly in Phase I clinical trials. Its other pipeline products include anti-a-syn antibody in discovery phase for Parkinson disease (PD) and neuroorphan diseases; mAB-NLRP3-ASC in discovery phase for central nervous system (CNS); anti-TDP-43 antibody in discovery phase for neuroorphan diseases; Tau-PET tracer in collaboration with Life Molecular Imaging in Phase II trials for AD and progressive supreanuclear palsy (PSY); Morphomer a-syn (a-syn inhibitor, small molecule) for Parkinson disease (PD) and neuroorphan diseases; ACI-24 (anti-Abeta vaccine) in Phase II stage for AD treatment in Down syndrome; Mor-NLRP3-ASC in discovery phase for non-CNS and TDP-43-PET tracer in discovery phase for diagnostic.

R&D Overview

AC Immune is advancing one of the industry's broadest and most diverse clinical-stage pipelines focused on neurodegenerative diseases, based on its SupraAntigen and Morphomer technology platforms. The company designs first- and best-in-class therapeutic and diagnostic candidates to tackle established and novel disease targets. Their research and development initiatives include active immunotherapies, antibodies, small molecules, and diagnostics. The company's therapeutic focus is Alzheimer’s disease, but they have diversified to develop product candidates targeting Parkinson’s disease and other NeuroOrphan diseases. The company plans to increase its research and development expenses, fund a broader number of projects, undertake later-stage research and development for certain product candidates, allocate more funding to existing programs, increase efforts on non-AD indications, including NeuroOrphans and diagnostics, and initiate new research initiatives. In FY2025, the company incurred research and development expenses of CHF56.4 million.
