This project aims to test low carbon heating technologies and energy-efficient building materials, providing insights for significant reductions in carbon emissions for new homes from 2025. Initial findings from the project, released in January 2024, indicate that the Future Homes Standard can be achieved at scale, with homes showing resilience against extreme climates and a small variance in performance. Further testing will focus on the effectiveness of different electrified heating systems.
