Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) is the monetary authority of Egypt that formulates and implements banking, monetary and credit policies; implements monetary policy, banking policy, and credit policy, issues banknotes, and coins; manages foreign exchange reserves and foreign exchange market; maintains price stability through making changes in policy rates; ascertains liquidity in the national economy; manages reserve money, foreign exchange, payment systems, liquidity management, and public and private external debts; supervises banking sector and national payment system, and manages public and private external debt; manages interest rates on deposits and loans through monetary policy. CBE is headquartered in Cairo, Egypt.
