Mr. Stewart W. Bainum, Jr. has been the Chairman of the company since 1997. Prior to this, he served Director of Realty Investment Company Inc from December 2005 through December 2016 and as its Chairman from December 2005 through June 2009. He also served as Chairman and Director of Sunburst Hospitality Corporation; Director of SunBridge Manager LLC; Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Manor Care Inc. Previously, he served as Vice Chairman and President of Manor Care of America Inc, and as Chief Executive Officer of ManorCare Health Services, Inc. Presently, he serves as Managing Member of Artis Senior Living LLC since 2012; on the board of advisors of UCLA's School of Management and member of the Real Estate Roundtable.

Mr. Patrick S. Pacious has been the Chief Executive Officer, President and Director of the company since 2017. Prior to this he was the Chief Operating Officer of the company. He held nine years with Arthur Andersen Business Consulting LLP and BearingPoint Inc., serving with executive management and boards of directors at clients, including Choice Hotels and other major hospitality companies. He also served as a U.S. Navy officer in surface warfare and strategic planning from 1987 to 1993.

Mr. Scott Oaksmith has been the Chief Financial Officer of the company since August 2023. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President and Deputy Chief Financial Officer of the company. Prior to that, Mr. Oaksmith served as Director of marketing and reservation finance of the company.

Ms. Elizabeth Redmond has been the Chief Accounting Officer of the company since 2020. Prior to this, she served as Vice President of Financial Reporting and Accounting at the company. She joined the company in 2007 and held various key roles in finance department at the company.

Ms. Anna Scozzafava has been the Chief Strategy Officer and Senior Vice President, Technology of the company since August 2023. Previously, she served as the Senior Vice President and General Manager, Extended Stay Brands.
