Business Description
CPC Corp (CPC) is a Taiwanese state-owned enterprise primarily engaged in the exploration, production, import, and refining of oil and natural gas. The company also focuses on the development of low-carbon and renewable energy resources, including geothermal power and carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects. In FY2024, CPC's domestic natural gas production was 93.2 million cubic meters, and it imported 134.6 million barrels of crude oil.

R&D Overview
CPC has undertaken a range of R&D initiatives focused on technological innovation and corporate sustainability. The Exploration & Development Research Institute (EDRI) has enhanced the understanding of petroleum systems, evaluated oil and gas potentials, and developed carbon capture and storage monitoring technology. The Refining & Manufacturing Research Institute (RMRI) has developed new processes for petrochemicals, optimized production processes, and established a carbon capture facility. The Green Technology Research Institute (GTRI) has developed solar photovoltaic maintenance systems, energy storage systems, and eco-friendly materials. CPC Corp's R&D efforts also include advancements in bioremediation, biodegradable plastics, and high-performance materials for various applications. Exploration & Development Research Institute (EDRI): Focuses on analyzing geological data, evaluating oil and gas reserves, and developing technologies for exploration, drilling, and carbon sequestration. Refining & Manufacturing Research Institute (RMRI): Leads R&D in high-value-added petrochemicals, pollution control, refinery improvements, and technology transfer for new products. Green Technology Research Institute (GTRI): Dedicated to R&D in biofuels, renewable energy, green materials, and pilot production of advanced projects. In FY2024, the company incurred a research and development expenditure of TWD3,718 million which was 0.3% of the company's total revenue.
