Mr. Jackie Sheppard has been the Chairman and Director of the company since 2014. Prior to this, she served as Director of the company since 2009. Prior to this, she served as the Director of the company’s subsidiary Emera Newfoundland and Labrador Holdings Inc until 2016 and also as the Chair of Research & Development. Previously, she served as the Executive Vice President in Corporate & Legal division of Talisman Energy. She is the Director of Black Swan Energy, Seven Generations Energy, and AIMCo.

Mr. Scott Balfour has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of the company since 2018. Prior to this, he served as Chief Operating Officer of the company in 2016 and Chief Financial Officer of the company in 2012. He has over 20 years of experience in finance, and construction sectors. Prior to this, he served as the Chief Financial Officer and then as a President of Aecon Group. Currently, he serves as Director of Emera Operating Companies.

Mr. Gregory Blunden has been the Chief Financial Officer of Emera since March 2016. He joined the company in 2000 and held financial leadership roles at the company, Emera Maine and Nova Scotia Power. Previously, he served as the Vice President of Corporate Strategy & Planning and Executive Vice President of Customer, Business & Financial Services at Nova Scotia Power.

Mr. Mike Roberts has been the Chief Human Resources Officer of the company since 2014. Previously, he served as the Chief Digital Officer of the company. Prior to this, he served as Vice President in Corporate Development for Irving. Earlier, he also led various senior positions including Vice President, Human Resources and Vice President, Regulatory and Government Affairs. He also served on the Board of COVE, Nova Scotia Heart & Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. Currently, he serves as the Vice- Chairman Nova Scotia.

Mr. Bruce Marchand is the Chief Risk & Sustainability Officer since 2022. Prior to this, he served as the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer of Emera. He joined the company in January 2012. Mr. Marchand has various professional affiliations and community activities and involvement including the Nova Scotia Barrister’s Society and the Canadian Bar Association (CBA). He is a member of the Nova Scotia Natural Resources and Energy Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association; and Governor of the Junior Achievement Nova Scotia Business Hall of Fame. Mr. Marchand served as the Chairman of the QEII Foundation and its Government Relations Committee.
