Mr. James A. Schoeneck has been the Chairman of the company since January 2020. Prior to this, he served as the Interim Chief Executive Officer of the company. Mr. Schoeneck also served on the board of directors at AnaptysBio Inc and was the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Depomed Inc. Before this, he served in multiple companies including as the Chief Executive Officer for BrainCells Inc, ActivX BioSciences Inc and Prometheus Laboratories Inc. Before joining Prometheus, he served at at Centocor Inc (now Janssen Biotech Inc) as the Vice president and General Manager, Immunology. Earlier in his career, he served at Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Inc (now Sanofi) for 13 years.

Mr. Thane Wettig has been the Chief Executive Officer of the company since 2023. He served as Chief Commercial Officer of the company. Previously, he served as Metabolic Franchise Head and Chief Commercial Officer at Intarcia Therapeutics. Prior to that, he served as Vice President of Global Marketing, Strategy and Alliance Management at Lilly Diabetes.

Mr. Juan Graham has been the Chief Financial Officer of the company since 2021. Prior to this, he served as Global Chief Financial Officer and Vice President Finance Supply Chain in Johnson & Johnson Inc since 2019. Previously, he served in various roles at Johnson & Johnson Inc such as VP Finance & Business Development; Senior Finance Director of J&J Development Corporation / J&J Innovation; and Finance Director of Mergers & Acquisitions.

Mr. Michael D. Lowenstein is the Chief Legal Counsel of the company. Prior to joining FibroGen, he practiced at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. He is also a member of the State Bar of California.

Ms. Tricia Stewart has been the Chief People Officer of the company since May 2021. Prior to this, she served at Genentech as Vice-President Human Resources Pharma International in Basel, Switzerland, Vice-President Human Resources Product Development in South San Francisco, and Head of Global Mobility in Basel, Switzerland.
