ICON Plc: Executives

Mr. Ciaran Murray has been the Chairman of ICON since 2018. Prior to this, he served as the Chief Executive Officer from October 2011 to March 2017. He joined the company in 2005 as the Chief Financial Officer and served in that capacity until his appointment as the Chief Executive Officer in 2011. He has 35 years of leadership experience forged from a career spent operating in global markets in high-growth entrepreneurial companies and blue-chip multi-nationals, including Kraft Foods, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Novell Inc., Northern Foods and Codec Systems.

Dr. Steve Cutler has been the Chief Executive Officer and Director of ICON from March 2017. Prior to this, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of ICON from January 2014 to March 2017. He served as the Group President, Clinical Research Services from November 2011 until his appointment as the Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining ICON, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Kendle having previously served as the Chief Operating Officer. Before joining Kendle, he spent 14 years with Quintiles serving in various positions such as the Senior Vice President, Clinical, Medical and Regulatory; Senior Vice President, Global Project Management; Vice President, Oncology - Europe; Senior Vice President, Project Management - Europe; as well as regional leadership positions in Australia and South Africa. Prior to joining Quintiles, he held positions with Sandoz in Europe and Australia.

Mr. Brendan Brennan has been the Chief Financial Officer of the company since February 2012. Prior to this, he served in several senior finance roles including Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance. Before joining ICON, Mr. Brennan served Cement Roadstone Holdings, a major Irish building materials organization.

Mr. Tom O'Leary has been the Chief Information Officer of the company. He also served as Manager of Data Management in Dublin in 2001; Global Head of Data Management in 2006; Vice President of Data Management. Prior to this, he held positions in Resource Management, Data Management and Project Management in GlaxoSmithKline.

Mr. Diarmaid Cunningham has been the Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel and Company Secretary of the company since 2016. Prior to this, he served as the Secretary to the Board of the Association of Clinical Research Organisations (ACRO) in 2013 and 2014. Prior to joining ICON, he spent 10 years with A&L Goodbody, one of Ireland's premier corporate law firms.
