IREN SpA (IREN) is a multi-utility, which generates and sells electricity and thermal energy; sells gas; collects, selects, recovers, and disposes urban waste; and provides integrated water services, and public lighting, global services, and other services. IREN operates its business through five segments: Networks, Waste Management, Energy, Market, and Other Services. It had four subsidiaries at the end of FY2022.
R&D Overview
The company’s R&D efforts focus adopting technologies and processes to support the sustainable development of the reference businesses. The company collaborates with various Universities, Research Centers, Innovation Hubs and Start-ups for research study. During the year 2022, the company’s Iren Innovation Lab has launched a new project, with the collaboration between the Innovation, Communication and Personnel and Organization Departments to further strengthen the culture of innovation at all hierarchical levels and to extend its innovation ecosystem beyond its geographical borders.
