Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security, previously Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corp (JOGMEC), is a government-owned organization. The organization provides financial assistance, technology development, and technical support to Japan's oil, natural gas, and metal companies. JOGMEC manages the stockpiling of oil, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and rare metals, including the construction of national LPG stockpiling bases. JOGMEC gathers, analyzes, and supplies upstream oil and natural gas operations data. The organization offers geological and geophysical surveys to assist Japanese oil companies in acquiring oil and natural gas exploration and development rights. It also develops mine pollution prevention measures including mine wastewater treatment. JOGMEC is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
