KAZ Minerals Ltd (KAZ), a subsidiary of Nova Resources BV is a producer and supplier of copper. It produces copper products in Kazakhstan and the CIS region. The company operates through six business segment such as Aktogay, Bozshakol, East Region, Bozymchak, Baimskaya, and Mineral Resources. As of December 2022, the Aktogay business had 1,915 Mt of mineral resources, with 0.33% of copper grade. The Bozshakol business had 1,123 Mt of mineral resources with 0.35% of copper grade. The East Region and Bozymchak had Underground operations and associated concentrators in the East Region of Kazakhstan and had copper-gold open pit mine in Kyrgyzstan. It also produced copper of 53 kt and 167 koz gold in 2022. The Baimskaya business had 2,510 Mt with 0.39%, containing 9.9 Mt copper and 16.6 Mt Moz gold. As of December 2022, the company mineral reserve had total proved reserve of 1,729.4 Mt, with 0.38% of copper, 0.15% of gold, 1.7% of silver, 0.02% of zinc, 0.01% of lead and 0.009% of Molybden. The company is a copper producer with mining operations in Kazakhstan, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan. In Kazakhstan the Group operates the Aktogay and Bozshakol mines and concentrators, as well as three underground mines and two associated concentrators in the East Region. The company also produces other metals as by-products such as zinc, silver and gold. It is also involved in the mining of coal, which is used for power generation, which is in turn used by the company's mining sites. It carries out the exploration, evaluation, development, mining, and processing of the company's mineral resources and conducts the sale of metal products.
