NIS is focused on continuous technological development and innovation in its business segments. The company, through its subsidiary STC NIS Naftagas LLC Novi Sad, supports oil and gas exploration and production with scientific and technical expertise. In 2024, the company continued projects like "Srednji Banat" and "Severni Banat," drilled three exploration wells confirming new hydrocarbon reserves, and developed new studies on reserves. It created a Resource Base Development Strategy and developed geological and hydrodynamic models for both external and domestic projects. An application for automatic calculation of recoverable reserves was developed, enhancing production dynamics analysis. The company also explored geothermal energy diversification and proposed over 20 new technology hypotheses for upstream challenges. The Downstream Laboratory at the Pancevo Oil Refinery maintained its accreditation under the SRPS ISO/IEC 17025 standard. The R&D unit of the company is STC NIS Naftagas LLC Novi Sad. This unit is responsible for providing scientific-technical and innovation support to the parent company, focusing on oil and gas exploration and production. It coordinates and performs scientific and research works, implements and develops new technologies, and enhances the efficiency of exploration, production, and refining activities.
