R&D efforts focus on new product development and element technology research; and develop new business fields through technological integration and create high-growth businesses. It also focuses on collaboration with various key players across the globe for the development of new technologies. Its major R&D centers include Central Technical Laboratory, Nidec Research and Development Center, Nidec Center for Industrial Science, Dalian Technical Center, Shiga Technical Center and Nagano Technical Center. In FY2023, it spent JPY81,337 million on R&D, which was 3.6% of its revenue and grew 4.2% YoY.
