Mr. Joerg Reinhardt has been the Chairman since 2013. Prior to this, he served as the Chairman of the board of management and as the member of Executive Committee of Bayer HealthCare. Mr. Reinhardt also served as the Chief Operating Officer of Novartis from 2008 to 2010 and as the Head of the Vaccines and Diagnostics Division of Novartis from 2006 to 2008. He served as the Chairman of Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation in the US from 2000 to 2010; and was member of the board of directors of Lonza Group AG from 2012 to 2013.

Mr. Vasant Narasimhan has been the Chief Executive Officer of the company since 2018. Prior to this, he was the Global Head Drug Development and the Chief Medical Officer of the company. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of Novartis. Mr. Narasimhan held several leadership positions in the development and commercial functions. He also held the position of Global Head of Development of Novartis Pharmaceuticals; and Global Development Head at Novartis Vaccines. In the past, he led the Sandoz biosimilars and oncology injectables business unit. Prior to Novartis, Mr. Narasimhan worked at McKinsey & Company.

Mr. Harry Kirsch has been the Chief Financial Officer of the company since 2013. Prior to this, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of Novartis's Pharmaceuticals division. At Novartis, he also served as the Chief Financial Officer of Pharma Europe and as the Head of Business Planning & Analysis and Financial Operations of the Pharmaceuticals division. He joined the company in 2003 from Procter & Gamble in the US, where he served as the Chief Financial Officer of P&G's Global Pharmaceuticals Business. Prior to that, he held finance positions in several categories of P&G's technical operations, consumer goods business and Global Business Services organization.

Ms. Karen L. Hale has been the Chief Legal Officer of the company since 2021. Prior to this, she served in several leadership roles including as the Vice president, Deputy General Counsel, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, and Divisional Vice P resident at AbbVie Inc since 2006.

Mr. Shreeram Aradhye has been the Chief Medical Officer and President of Global Drug Development of the company since 2022. Prior to this he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Dicerna Therapeutics. Earlier he worked as Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer at Axcella Health from 2019 to 2020. Mr. Aradhye has served as Global Head, Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer of Pharmaceuticals at Novartis from 2017 to 2019 and Global Head of Development Franchise Neuroscience, and the US Head of Development from 2013 to 2017. He handled the operations as Executive Global Program Head, and Multiple Sclerosis from 2012 to 2013. Previously, he was Head of Global Development India at Novartis from 2011 to 2012. Mr. Aradhye has served as Head of Global Clinical Development & Medical Affairs at Biosimilars, Sandoz, Germany from 2009 to 2011.
