Mr. Helge Lund has been the Chairman of the company since 2018. Prior to this, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of BG Group Plc from 2015 to 2016. Mr. Lund also served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Equinor ASA. Previously, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Aker Kvaerner ASA. He also held various executive positions in Aker RGI ASA, Norway and Hafslund Nycomed, Norway. Currently, he also serves as the Chairman of the Board of BP Plc.

Mr. Lars Fruergaard Jorgensen has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of the company since 2017. Prior to this, he served as the Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Novo Nordisk. He joined Novo Nordisk in 1991 as an economist in Health Care, Economy and Planning. In 2004, Mr. Jorgensen was appointed as the Senior Vice President for IT and Corporate Development. In January 2013, Mr. Jorgensen was appointed as the Executive Vice President and the Chief Information Officer. Mr. Jorgensen took over the responsibilities for Corporate People and Organization and Business Assurance and was appointed as the Chief of Staff in November 2014.

Mr. Karsten Munk Knudsen has been the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the company since 2018. Prior to this, he served as the Senior Vice President of the company. Mr. Knudsen also served as the Corporate Vice President of Finance and IT from 2010 to 2014. He joined Novo Nordisk in 1999 as a Business Analyst in NNIT AS, previously a subsidiary of Novo Nordisk.

Mr. Marcus Schindler has been the Executive Vice President of Research & Early Development and Chief Scientific Officer of the company since 2021. Prior to this, he served as the Senior Vice President for External Innovation and Strategy and Senior Vice President for Global Drug Discovery of the company. Mr. Schindler also served as the Vice President of AstraZeneca.
