Portland General Electric Co (PGE) is an investor-owned utility that generates, transmits, distributes and retails electricity. The company purchases and sells electricity and natural gas in the wholesale market. It generates electricity from its owned plants and sells through short-term and long-term power purchase contracts. The company also owns and/or has contractual rights associated with transmission lines. It serves in residential, commercial, and industrial customers in 51 cities and seven counties of the state. PGE operates through single business segment with revenues and costs related to its business activities tracked and analyzed on an overall electric operations basis. As of December 31, 2022, the company delivered 27.23 million MWh of the total energy deliveries and served 926,000 retail customers. It has six thermal plants, three wind farms and seven hydroelectric facilities in the US.
