R&D Overview
Kalbe's commitment to research and development (R&D) plays an important role in maintaining its competitive edge in the healthcare industry. In FY2024, the company continued to develop new products for its Prescription Pharmaceutical, Consumer Health, and Nutritionals Divisions. Efforts were made to substitute imported components with domestically procured raw materials, and new herbal products were introduced to support the Consumer Health Division. The company also launched two biologic drugs, Zerpidio for cancer and Efesa for chronic kidney disease, and initiated the construction of radiopharmaceutical production plants to improve access to affordable cancer treatments. Its R&D unit is responsible for fostering dynamic cross-functional collaboration among internal talents from R&D, marketing, production, and other key areas. This unit explores innovative strategies for developing effective and commercially successful health solutions. It also conducts pioneering research in drug delivery, cancer treatments, stem cells, genomics, and biotechnology to shape the future of healthcare. In FY2024, the company incurred an expense of IDR8,787,000 million on its R&D, which as a percentage of revenue stood at 26.9%.

Overview
Provides over-the-counter (OTC) drugs, health supplements and energy drinks. The products are also exported to the ASEAN region, South Africa, and Nigeria. It consists of a dedicated production facility for OTC drugs in Myanmar to meet the needs of the local market. Some products under this segment include: Bejo, an herbal medicine with the main ingredient of red ginger, is beneficial for relieving cold symptoms and assisting in maintaining the body's immune system. EJ Sport Gel is an energy gel for maintaining stamina and improving sports performance. Promag Suspensi is used for reducing symptoms of excess stomach acid, gastritis and duodenum ulcers.

Operates three distribution centers in Jakarta, Cikarang, and Surabaya, each with space for more than 140,000 pallet spots. The centers serve 72 branches and 25 sales offices. This segment serves 38 Indonesian provinces along with one million retail outlets across the 17,000 islands of the Indonesian archipelago. This segment comprises digital ventures of the company, Mostrans, Emos and Mospay. Mostrans is Indonesia’s first digital transportation platform for healthcare products. Emos is a business-to-business electronic platform in the healthcare industry, connecting principals and distributors with over 18,000 outlets and hospitals in Indonesia. Mospay is the company’s online payment application. This segment also includes the raw material trading and medical device business of the company. Some medical devices include Elvasense Smartphone Connect, Elvalene and Indigen TB Dx.
