Business Description
Qatar Gas Transport Co Ltd (Nakilat) is shipping and maritime company that provides transportation link in the State of Qatar’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply chain. Nakilat manages assets and operates ship repair yard in the port of Ras Laffan for repair and maintenance of LNG carriers and other large vessels. As of December 2022, Nakilat had a fleet of 69 LNG carriers of which one Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) and four large LPG carriers and s and manages 30 vessels comprising of 25 LNG, four LPG carriers and one FSRU. The company also jointly owned four very large gas carriers (VLGCs), and one floating storage regasification unit (FSRU). Most of its vessels are employed with local gas producer Qatargas through long-term time charter agreements, while remainder of the fleet is utilized in international shipping markets.
