Sarawak Energy Bhd (Sarawak Energy) is a state-owned investment holding company that generates, transmits, distributes and sells electricity. The company generates power using sources such as coal, gas, and hydro. It supplies electricity to commercial, residential, and industrial customers in the State of Sarawak in Malaysia. The company operates a gas-fired open-cycle power plant in Tanjung Kidurong, Bintulu; a coal-fired steam-turbine power plant in Kampung Geobilt, Kuching; and a coal-fired power station in Matadeng, Mukah. It has collaborated with various educational institutions, including Curtin University Malaysia Sarawak and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), for feasibility studies and consultancy works, and research and development activities, among others. Sarawak Energy is headquartered in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
