Sibur Holding (Sibur) carries out the processing and manufacturing of semi-finished and end petrochemical products. It offers a diverse range of products, including natural gas liquids, natural gas, liquefied petroleum gases, polyethylene, naphtha, polypropylene, propylene, ethylene, BOPP films, methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), plastics, and synthetic rubbers. The company serves customers operating in the construction, energy, fast moving consumer goods, automotive, chemical, and other industries. Sibur operates through four reportable business segment; Midstream, Plastics, Elastomers & Intermediates (PE&I), Olefins & Polyolefins (O&P) and Unallocated.

R&D Overview
Research and development (R&D) focuses on developing and testing new materials and product solutions, analyzing and refining their properties, and customizing materials for meeting customers’ needs and also explore new opportunities, for enhancing polyolefin processing technologies. The company is involved in R&D activities mainly through testing of fuel and other petrochemical products. SIBUR considers introducing best available technologies, improving the energy efficiency of production and developing areas of R&D to be among the key mechanisms for realizing new opportunities. Some notable areas that the company employs R&D activities in are chemical recycling of polymer waste, developing and rolling out new polymer materials, developing a product portfolio in the context of existing technologies and low-carbon technologies and technologies enabling the use of CO2 molecules. The company is also a voluntary participant in several initiatives which aim at developing best practices in the petrochemical industry.
