Mr. Gary C. Kelly has been the Chairman of the company since 2022. Prior to this, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of the company. an Executive Vice President and the Chief Financial Officer from 2001 to 2004, and the Vice President of Finance. Mr. Kelly joined the company as a Controller in 1986. Earlier, he served as a Director at Lincoln National Corp.

Mr. Ron Ricks has been the Vice Chairman of the company since 2015. Prior to this, he served as an Executive Vice President and the Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer of the company from 2011 to 2015, and a Secretary from 2008 to 2013. He also served as an Executive Vice President Corporate Services of the company from 2008 to 2011; the Executive Vice President of Law, Airports, and Public Affairs from 2006 to 2008; and the Senior Vice President of Law, Airports, and Public Affairs from 2004 until 2006. He joined the company as the Vice President of Governmental Affairs in 1986.

Mr. Robert E. Jordan has been the President of the company since 2023 and the Chief Executive Officer and Director of the company since 2022. Prior to this, he served as an Executive Vice President of Corporate Services at the company. He held various roles at the company including the Director of Revenue Accounting, Corporate Controller, the Vice President of Procurement and Technology, the Senior Vice President of Enterprise Spend Management, an Executive Vice President of Strategy and Technology, and an Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, AirTran President. Prior to Southwest, Mr. Jordan worked at Hewlett-Packard as a Programmer and a Financial Analyst.

Ms. Tammy Romo has been an Executive Vice President and the Chief Financial Officer of the company since 2015. Prior to this, she served as the Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of the company from 2012 to 2015, and the Senior Vice President of Planning from 2010 to 2012. Ms. Romo also served as the Vice President of Financial Planning at the company from 2008 to 2010, the Vice President and Controller from 2006 to 2008, and the Vice President and Treasurer from 2004 to 2006. She also served as the Senior Director of Investor Relations at the company from 2002 to 2004, the Director of Investor Relations from 1994 to 2002, and the Manager of Financial Reporting from 1991 to 1994.

Mr. Andrew M. Watterson has been the Chief Operating Officer of the company since 2022. Previously, he served as the Chief Commercial Officer and an Executive Vice President of the company. Prior to this, he served as an Executive Vice President and the Chief Revenue Officer of the company from 2017 to 2020; and the Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer in 2017. Previously, he served as the Senior Vice President of Network and Revenue from 2016 to 2017; and the Vice President of Network Planning and Performance of the company from 2013 to 2016.
