Southwestern Electric Power Co (SWEPCo), a subsidiary of American Electric Power Company Inc, is a vertically integrated utility that generates, procures, transmits, distributes and retails electricity. The company generates electricity from natural gas, coal and wind sources. It retails electricity to residential, commercial, industrial and other customers. SWEPCo also provides electricity to wholesale trades, municipalities, rural electric cooperatives and other market participants. It provides electricity to various customers across the northeastern and panhandle area of Texas, and northwestern Louisiana and western Arkansas. SWEPCo is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, the US.
